Afghanistan Women’s Voice Movement

The Afghanistan Women’s Voice Movement emerged as a social and political initiative to address the numerous challenges Afghan women face. This movement organized its first protest in 2022, gathering a large group of women advocating for the recognition and criminalization of gender apartheid. Comprising 140 activists across Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan, it is dedicated to advancing women’s rights in Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan  Women’s Voice Movement not only amplifies women’s voices globally but also

serves as a symbol of resilience and resistance against discrimination and inequality.

The Afghanistan Women’s Voice Movement took shape in response to recent political and social developments, particularly following the Taliban’s return to power. It quickly garnered a large following of women and men advocating for human rights, social justice, and gender equality.

A Symbol of Resilience and Advocacy for Afghan Women’s Rights

Founded and led by Hadia Sahibzada, a graduate in Law and Political Science with a diploma in Religious Studies, this movement has been a strong advocate for children’s rights. Sahibzada has also led a large campaign to halt the forced deportation of Afghan refugees from Iran, defending migrants' rights and earning recognition among human rights activists and the media.
